Baton Rouge, LA – Police Respond To Shooting At Walmart On Bluebonnet Blvd

Baton Rouge, LA (August 6, 2019) – Local police officials responded to a Walmart on Bluebonnet Blvd in Baton Rouge on Tuesday, August 6th. The intersection of Burbank Dr. and Bluebonnet Blvd was closed for some time due to police activity. The roadway was re-opened at around 1:40 p.m. 

An altercation took place in the customer service line inside of Walmart around 1:00 pm on Tuesday.  During the altercation, the two patrons involved pulled out guns on each other.  As the altercation escalated, one of the patrons fired their weapon several times, hitting an uninvolved individual. The victim of the shooting was in Walmart buying a lunchbox for their child when injured. 

Reports state that the victim was hit multiple times by gunshots, but the injuries he sustained were non-life threatening. He was transported to a local area hospital, in a private vehicle, for treatment of his injuries.
