Boyce, LA (July 5, 2019) – A van was slammed into by an oncoming train at the junction of Shuler and River Roads earlier today, Friday, July 5th.  

Sometime after 11:49 a.m., local police received an alert about the accident and rushed to the crash site at Rapides Station, at the intersection of Shuler and Rover.  Firefighters and an ambulance also arrived at the scene.

The driver of the van was ticketed for driving around the barriers.

Police announced that nobody died in the accident. The passengers on the train were unharmed.  But, the driver of the van was transported to Rapides Regional Medical Center and reported to be in stable condition.
