Braithwaite, LA – 1 Killed, 1 Injured In Wreck On LA-39 At Marc’s Ln

Braithwaite, LA (August 26, 2019) – On the morning of Monday, August 26, there was a fatal crash reported near Braithwaite. Louisiana State Police (LSP) responded to the scene around 7:00 a.m. at LA-39 near Marc’s Lane. 

According to initial reports, 47-year-old Vondria Paloade was traveling southbound on LA-39 in a 2006 Pontiac G6 when she swerved off and then re-entered the roadway. She crossed into the northbound lane, striking a 2019 Jeep Cherokee driven by 46-year-old Cassandra Reddick of Braithwaite.

Paloade sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Reddick was also injured in the crash and transported to University Medical Center in New Orleans.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
