Calcasieu Parish, LA – 2 Sulphur Residents Dead After Wreck at LA-108 & LA-27

Calcasieu Parish, LA (September 15, 2019) – Two residents of Sulphur, Louisiana, were killed in a crash on Thursday, September 12. Louisiana State Police (LSP) was at the site of the crash around 8:00 p.m., at the intersection of LA-108 and LA-27. The wreck reportedly involved two vehicles. 

Preliminary reports indicated that a 2019 Kia Rio traveling on LA-108 EB driven by Billy J. Cornes, 43, collided with another vehicle after failing to yield during a left-turn on LA-27. Cornes hit a westbound 2014 Ford F-150. Cornes and his passenger, 36-year-old Danielle R. Cornes, sustained fatal injuries. 

The driver of the F-150 was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

LSP is currently investigating the cause of the wreck.
