Concordia Parish, LA – Multi-Vehicle Crash Kills Motorcyclist On Louisiana Ave

Concordia Parish, LA (August 25, 2019) – According to Louisiana State Police (LSP), there was a deadly crash early on the morning of Sunday, August 25th around 1:05 a.m. Impairment is believed to be a factor in the accident that occurred on Louisiana Avenue, also known as US-84, near the Frogmore Plantation. 

According to initial reports, a 2008 Hyundai driven by 63-year-old Veria Coleman, of Jonesville, veered into the eastbound lanes and struck two motorcycles. As a result two additional motorcycles, behind the first pair, collided, overturning and ejecting the riders.

One of the ejected riders was then hit by a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee, killing the rider. The deceased motorcyclist has been identified as 22-year-old Cody A. McClung.

Coleman was injured and transported to Riverland Medical Center. Five other people were injured in the crash and taken to Riverland Medical Center.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
