June 2, 2014 Drunk Driving Suspected Cause of Deadly Car Crash A man was killed early Sunday Morning when the vehicle he was driving collided head on with a truck. The man, 54-year-old Patrick Sullivan of Kenner, LA, was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of Interstate-10 in St. John the Baptist Parish when he collided with the oncoming truck. Police suspect that Mr. Sullivan was drunk driving and are awaiting results of toxicology tests. The accident occurred around 3:30 a.m., at which point Sullivan was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries. While the driver of the truck reportedly only suffered minor injuries, this is yet another example of drunk driving ruining the lives of many people. If the vehicle Sullivan struck was not a large truck, the results likely could have been much worse. This should remind us all to never get behind the wheel of a vehicle after you’ve been drinking. Unfortunately, we can’t guarantee that others on the road are being safe and responsible.
