Garyville, LA – Fatal Auto-Pedestrian Hit-and-Run on US-61 at LA-3213

Garyville, LA (June 15, 2019) – Louisiana State Police have confirmed a fatal pedestrian accident that happened on US-61 near the intersection with LA-3213 on Wednesday, June 12th. The time of the incident in the early morning just past 5 a.m.

The victim of the crash was 28-year-old Gramercy native Dexton A. Brown.

An unknown vehicle traveling southbound on US-61 stuck Brown as he was walking south on the highway. St. John the Baptist Parish Coroner’s Office pronounced Brown dead at the scene after sustaining fatal injuries from the collision.

LSP is currently looking for information regarding the identity of the perpetrator as well as the type of vehicle involved.
