Livingston Parish, LA – Head-On Wreck Leaves 2 Dead on I-12

Livingston Parish, LA (September 14, 2019) – There was a fatal crash near Springfield, LA, on Interstate 12 WB that took the lives of two victims. Louisiana State Police (LSP) was at the scene of the accident around 12:30 p.m. on Friday, September 13. The crash took place west of LA Highway 43. 

Reports indicated that the wreck involved a Kenworth tractor-trailer and a 2018 Toyota Highlander traveling eastbound on I-12. For unknown reasons, the Kenworth truck and the Toyota collided, sending both vehicles over the highway median. The Kenworth struck a Western Star tractor-trailer head-on and the Toyota rolled over in the crash. Both the Kenworth and the Western Star caught on fire due to the impact. 

The drivers of both the Kenworth and the Western Star sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the Toyota was also sustained injuries in the crash.

LSP is currently investigating the cause of the collision.
