Livingston Parish, LA – Woman Killed, 1 Injured In Accident On LA-444

Livingston Parish, LA (July 20, 2019) – Local news sources have reported that a 19-year-old woman was killed and her passenger injured in a car crash that took place in Livingston Parish in the late evening of Thursday, July 18th. The crash happened on LA-444 west of LA-22. 

Authorities have identified the deceased as Megan Shoeman, of Livingston. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by the Livingston Parish Coroner’s Office. 

Her passenger sustained injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital following the crash.

Shoeman was traveling east on LA-444 when she struck a tree, causing the vehicle to overturn. 

Shoeman was said to have been properly restrained at the time of the accident but was ejected from the vehicle. 

It is believed that intoxication and speed are believed to have been factors in the crash. Routine toxicology tests are still pending. 

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
