Marrero, LA – Teenage Passenger Killed In Wreck On LA-45 Near Dolores Dr

Marrero, LA (July 14, 2019) – Louisiana State Police were at the scene of an accident around 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 13th, in Jefferson Parish. The crash happened on LA-45 near Dolores Dr and took the life of a 19-year-old boy from Pointe à la Hache.

The deceased teenager has been identified as Ryan Moliere Jr.

Initial reports reveal that 24-year-old Jarrell Sino Braithwaite was driving a 2010 Mercury Milan south on LA-45. Braithwaite veered into the path of a 2016 GMC Sierra pickup truck traveling north on LA-45. This caused the GMC to strike the Mercury.

Moliere was a passenger in the Mercury and sustained fatal injuries on impact. Both Moliere and Braithwaite were unrestrained in their vehicles. Braithwaite and the driver of the pickup were also injured in the crash.

It is uncertain if intoxication was a factor, as routine toxicology tests are pending.

The cause of the collision is currently under investigation.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of Ryan Moliere Jr. at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
