Morehouse Parish, LA – 2 Killed In Morehouse Parish Boating Incident Near Bayou Dr

Morehouse Parish, LA (July 29, 2019) – Two people have been confirmed dead in the aftermath of a boating accident in Morehouse Parish. The Morehouse Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies and agents from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries were at the scene of the incident which took place on the Cutoff near Sterlington. 

Initial reports indicate that three men were fishing in an aluminum fishing boat near Bayou Dr. The boat capsized, and one person was able to swim to a nearby house on a nearby bank to call for help. 

Two bodies of those who did not survive were recovered by deputies and wildlife agents. 

The identities of the three people involved have not been released at this time.

No other information is currently available.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
