New Iberia, LA – Driver Killed in Wreck at LA-14 & Claude Viator Rd

New Iberia, LA (September 5, 2019) – Troopers from the Louisiana State Police were at the scene of a fatal crash on Tuesday, September 3. The wreck happened on LA-14 at Claude Viator Road in New Iberia, Louisiana. The accident took the life of an 84-year-old woman from New Iberia. 

According to LSP, the deceased victim was Joyce Falgout, who was driving a 2005 Ford Escape at the time of the wreck. A collision occurred with a WB 2018 Audi Q5 SUV at an intersection entering LA-14 from Claude Viator Road. 

Falgout was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries and was later pronounced dead. The driver of the Audi was also injured in the crash. 

It is unknown if intoxication was a factor in the accident. Local authorities are currently investigating the cause of the wreck.
