New Orleans, LA – UPDATE: Pilot Involved In Deadly Plane Crash Identified

New Orleans, LA (August 20, 2019) – The pilot involved in a fatal airplane crash earlier this week in New Orleans has been identified by local authorities. The crash took place on Friday, August 16, just south of the New Orleans Lakefront Airport. The pilot and his passenger were both killed in the crash. 

The pilot has been identified as 69-year-old Franklin Augustus. Augustus was an accomplished pilot,  and his passenger, Nancy Parker, was a well-known New Orleans journalist who was covering his career. Both were pronounced dead at the accident scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by local officials. More information will be released as the investigation continues.
