Pine Grove, LA – Man Dies during Head-On Collision along LA-16

Pine Grove, LA (June 2, 2019) – Early in the morning on Sunday, June 2nd, officers with Louisiana State Police Troop L were dispatched to the scene of a fatal head-on collision along LA-16, in the vicinity of Calmes Road.

According to a report from Sunday’s investigation, police officers confirmed that 38-year old Ronald Lee Davis had been driving his 2002 Buick LeSabre on the eastbound lanes of LA-16. For reasons still undetermined, Davis swerved into westbound traffic and slammed into the front of an oncoming 2002 Cadillac DeVille, which was driven by 35-year-old John Ray Daniels, of Denham Springs.

During the impact, Davis suffered from traumatic injuries and died soon after.

Meanwhile, his wife Pamela Topps, a 38-year-old resident of Greensburg, suffered from non-life-threatening injuries in the crash. Sometime later, emergency personnel transported her to a local hospital for further medical attention.

Daniels also suffered injuries and was transported via Arcadian Air Med to a medical center.

Police confirmed that none of the people involved in the crash had been wearing seatbelts. Officers have also ruled out impairment as a possible cause.

We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Ronald Lee Davis. We wish Pamela Topps a swift and steady recovery from her injuries.

Furthermore, our thoughts are with John Ray Daniels and his family at this difficult time, and we wish him a full recovery as well.
