St. James Parish, LA – One Dead After Fatal Collision on Highway 61

St. James Parish, LA (July 17, 2019) – This morning, July 17^th, police arrived at the scene of a fatal collision that took place on Highway 61 around 5:30 a.m.

Louisiana State Police arrived at the scene of the accident, where they found that 26-year-old Sean Thomas, of Vacherie, was killed. Police claim that Thomas had been traveling in the left southbound lane in a box truck. At the same time, a Kenworth tractor-trailer was making a U-turn.

For reasons that are still being investigated, Thomas’ Ford ran into the rear-end of the tractor-trailer. Thomas suffered fatal injuries in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
