St Tammany Parish, LA – Man Killed In Crash With Tractor On I-12 Near Mandeville

St Tammany Parish, LA (July 20, 2019) – A man from Brusly was killed in an accident on Wednesday morning, July 17^th. The crash took place on Interstate 12 near Mandeville, east of LA-59. 

Louisiana State Police claim that the victim left the roadway where he struck a parked tractor. 

The identity of the deceased has been revealed as 39-year-old Gary Mercer Jr. The accident happened at around 10:00 a.m. when Mercer left the roadway for undefined reasons. 

Although Mercer was properly restrained at the time of the accident, local officials report that he was killed in the collision. 

It is not believed that intoxication was a factor in the crash at this time. Toxicology tests are still pending.

No other information was released concerning the incident. An investigation into the crash is currently underway.
