Second Round of Winter Weather Hits Louisiana

Less than a week after most major roadways and interstates in South Louisiana were shut down due to winter weather, another storm is making its way across the state. The same type of wintery mix is expected today, with freezing temperatures lasting into the late morning on Wednesday. The combination of low temperatures and sleet or freezing rain is expected to cause icy roads and bridges throughout the area, leading to more traffic congestion and shut downs of bridges.

Police and local authorities are encouraging everyone to stay at home and off the roads until this winter weather clears on Wednesday. However, if you must get on the roads for work or other emergencies, please exercise extreme caution while driving. Black ice can easily form in this winter weather, which will be almost invisible to a driver until you hit it. Additionally, you can check our blog for an updated list of road and school closures.

With all of this bad winter weather, there will undoubtedly be many accidents despite the best efforts of local authorities. There were over 200 accidents last Friday in the Baton Rouge area alone. If you or someone you know is involved in such an accident, tell them to give the team at Fisher Injury Lawyers a call. Chris Day and Bryan Fisher are in the office today and ready to talk with and assist anyone in need of help. They have the knowledge and skills necessary to help you recover from those responsible for your accident as soon as possible.
