Grant Parish, LA – Passenger Killed In Possible DUI Wreck On South Hargis Rd

separator

Grant Parish, LA (July 3, 2019) – The Louisiana State Police have confirmed that a man died and a teenager sustained injuries after a single-vehicle accident along South Hargis Road near LA Highway 122.

Based on the initial report, 18-year-old Colten A. W. Trouille (a resident of Montgomery) had been driving a 2001 Chevrolet pickup truck south along South Hargis Road when, at some point, his vehicle slid out of control. Ultimately, the truck entered the right portion of the road and ultimately slammed into a nearby tree.

Authorities confirmed Trouille’s passenger, 43-year-old Michael L. Chelette, had died during the impact.

Meanwhile, emergency personnel transported Trouille to a nearby hospital for additional treatment.

Police have suspected DUI to be a possible factor behind the crash and are conducting further tests.

We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Michael L. Chelette.  Our thoughts are with them at this time.
