PLAQUEMINE, LAA pedestrian was taken to the hospital with severe injuries after getting hit by a vehicle in Plaquemine. The Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office said it happened on LA 1 just south of LA 75 in Plaquemine just around 9 a.m.  The IPSO said the victim suffered severe leg injuries and was taken to Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center in Baton Rouge for   treatment and the Louisiana State Police Police reported the victim is listed in critical condition. The crash remains under investigation. At some point, the State, Iberville Parish and Plaquemine leaders must stop this carnage.  Until then, we will continue to push our cases through the judicial system.  Maybe the cost of compensating all of these victims will force our elected officials to install crosswalks, crossing signals and reduce speed limits to protect our citizens.
