West Monroe, LA (July 3, 2019) – Police have confirmed that a teenaged passenger died in a single-vehicle accident along LA Highway 151 in the vicinity of LA Highway 546 on Wednesday, July 3, 2019.
Based on the initial report from Louisiana State Police, 18-year-old Casey Holifeld had been driving a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado along LA-151 when, for indeterminate reasons, he swerved onto the left side of the roadway. As a result, the Chevrolet flipped multiple times
As the vehicle rolled, Holifeld’s passenger, 18-year-old Nathan Snyder (a resident of West Monroe) was ejected from the vehicle.
Sometime later, authorities sadly confirmed that Snyder died at the crash site.
Emergency personnel took Holifield to a nearby hospital for further treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials are currently running toxicology reports to determine if DUI was a factor.
We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Nathan Snyder. Our thoughts are with them at this time.
