Baton Rouge, LA – Traffic Accident Blocks East I-10 On Mississippi River Bridge

Baton Rouge, LA (August 8, 2019) – An accident occurred on the Mississippi River Bridge blocking a portion of eastbound traffic along Interstate 10 in the Baton Rouge area in the early morning of August 8^th.

The wreck occurred along the strip of I-10 on the Mississippi River Bridge at 5:48 a.m. this morning. After the accident, fire and rescue crews were sent to the site to clear the debris and render aid to the victims involved in the wreck. Authorities confirmed the crash blocked the lanes on eastbound I-10.

Initial reports confirm that the wreck caused injury to at least one person involved. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time, and the number of injured victims or their medical status was not released.
