Covington, LA – Man Killed in Fatal Accident on LA-437 Monday Night

Covington, LA (July 24, 2019) – Police responded to the scene of a fatal accident that took place on LA-437, also known as Lee Road, and took the life of one person in Covington.

According to police, the accident took place when 56-year-old Edward Sharp Jr. was driving his 2000 Toyota RAV4 southbound on the roadway around midnight on Monday. Police say that he went around a left-hand curve and crashed into a ditch.

The vehicle struck the ditch and collided head-on into a steep embankment. At the time of the crash, police said that Sharp was not properly restrained and suffered fatal injuries at the scene.

The accident investigation is ongoing at this time.
