Lafayette, LA (August 1, 2019) – A local news source has confirmed that authorities have reopened all westbound lanes across Interstate 10 following a major accident yesterday, August 1, 2019.

The wreck occurred on west Interstate 10 Near Whiskey Bay and Grosse Tête around 6:23 PM. The wreck caused backups across the Interstate 10 in the Lafayette area. Following the crash, fire, rescue, and cleanup crews were dispatched to the site to render aid and remove debris. Minor injuries were treated at the scene, and those needing additional treatment were sent to local area hospitals.

The collision is currently under investigation. Additional information is not readily available.
