New Orleans, LA – UPDATE: Man Arrested for Abandoned Car Causing Injuries on I-10

New Orleans, LA (June 29, 2019) – Louisiana State Police have taken a 27-year-old man into custody after a car fire resulted in a vehicle collision on I-10. The incident happened on Thursday, June 27th, at mile marker 218, outside of Kenner. The accident resulted in the closure of the Bonnet Carré Spillway Bridge that morning.

The man in custody is Antoine Reid, who abandoned a stolen vehicle that had caught on fire on I-10 westbound. 

State Police reported injuries were sustained when a car collided with the abandoned car fire traveling westbound on I-10. 

Reid was taken to Charles Parish Correctional Center and arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property, obstruction of a roadway, not having a driver’s license, and careless operation, along with having many outstanding warrants.

The crash is currently under investigation by officials at this time.
