St Tammany Parish, LA – Passenger Injured In Rear-End Crash At I-10 & Oak Harbor Blvd

St Tammany Parish, LA (August 24, 2019) – A driver is facing charges after his passenger was injured in a collision in St. Tammany Parish. The accident happened Friday evening August 23, on Interstate 10 near Oak Harbor Boulevard around 8:45 p.m. The driver, 33-year-old Lee Johnson, was reportedly under the influence at the time of the collision. 

Johnson’s car, a 2009 Infiniti M35, broke down in the center of the interstate when it was hit by a tractor-trailer. The backseat passenger of the Infiniti was seriously injured in the impact and was taken to University Medical Center. Johnson and the front passenger also sustained injuries. 

Johnson was arrested under various charges, including DWI, after the accident. The car had a known history if issues prior to the accident.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
