Harvey, LA – 3 Killed in Fatal Wreck on MacArthur Ave at Westbank Expy

Harvey, LA (June 17, 2019) – Officials report a suspected drunk driving accident resulted in the death of three victims on Sunday, June 16th. The incident happened in the evening at 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of MacArthur Ave. and the Westbank Expy.

The at-fault driver, 40-year-old Todd Williams, was arrested after the accident. Williams struck a group of individuals who were attending to a previous crash on the Westbank Expy.

The names of the victims who died in the accident were Claude Williams, William Leinart, and Ivan Chopin. At the time of the collision, Claude Williams had crashed his GMC Yukon, and Leinart and Chopin were rendering aid on the side of the expressway.

Todd Williams was also injured in the crash and was hospitalized.

The crash is still under investigation, and the toxicology tests are pending.
