Unrestrained Crashes in Louisiana

Moss Bluff, LA - Lake Charles Man Killed In Wreck On LA-378Using a seatbelt can save a life. In 2017, around 14,955 lives were saved due to the choice to wear a seatbelt. Unfortunately, many people still choose to ride while unrestrained in a vehicle, which totals over 10 percent of the population driving without a seatbelt.

When an occupant is unrestrained, there is a chance they could be ejected from the car in a crash. Ejection can result in significant injuries, and in particularly severe accidents, can result in the death of unrestrained passengers.
