New Orleans, LA – Multi-Vehicle Injury Wreck On I-10 On Bonnet Carré Spillway Bridge

New Orleans, LA (June 27, 2019) – The Louisiana State Police confirmed a man was arrested for involvement in an accident along the Bonnet Carré Spillway Bridge along Interstate 10 today, Thursday, June 27^th.

Based on the initial police report, a car slammed into another car that was abandoned on the side of the bridge, which triggered a second collision with another motor vehicle. Authorities confirmed that two vehicles burst into flames, but thankfully, the people involved sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the accident, emergency crews shut down the westbound lanes of I-10 and redirected traffic to southbound I-310. At some time around 7:30 a.m., the authorities reopened west I-10 to the public.

Police have arrested one man for being involved in the accident and confirmed the abandoned vehicle had previously been stolen from a location in Kenner.
