Chris Day is an attorney-engineer at Fisher Injury Lawyers. He is a graduate of the Paul Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University and is licensed to practice in all Courts in the State of Louisiana and the United States Fifth Circuit.
Prior to attending law school, Chris Day received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana State University in 2008. Chris continues his involvement in engineering by maintaining his membership in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. His knowledge and proficiency in that field give him a unique and specialized expertise and point of view that are rare in the legal arena. He is uniquely qualified to handle cases involving complex legal issues such as multi-vehicle accidents, industrial accidents, slip and falls, trip and falls, defective product injuries, and heavy equipment accidents. Moreover, his engineering education and expertise give him an advantage over less educated competition. In 2015, in just his fourth year practicing law, Chris accomplished a rare feat in convincing the First Circuit Court of Appeals to overturn a final judgment dismissal of a workers compensation claim.
While in law school, Chris Day was a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity and a member and Treasurer of the Intellectual Property Law Association. He was also named to the Chancellor’s List in the Fall of 2010 and was an intern for the Honorable Judge James J. Brady of the United States Middle District of Louisiana during the Fall of 2009. Thus, Chris has an inside view of the workings of our court system and the process by which judges make decisions. He puts this additional training and insight to use every day advancing the cause of our many clients.
Chris Day is a member of the Baton Rouge, Louisiana State, Federal and American Bar Associations in addition to being a Member of the Wex Malone American Inns of Court and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Chris is married to Amanda Collura-Day who is also a practicing attorney in Baton Rouge. They are huge LSU fans and can be found most Fall weekends in the shadows of Tiger Stadium. They also enjoy traveling whenever possible, especially to see the Tigers play. On January 2, 2016 they welcomed their first child into the world, Victoria Patricia Day. Chris volunteers with various organizations and was recently elected as President of Brave Heart Children in Need, a local charity benefiting foster children throughout South Louisiana.
