Baton Rouge, LA – Cyclist Killed In Collision Off Of Highland Rd

Baton Rouge, LA (August 17, 2019) – Emergency responders have reported that a cyclist has been killed in a collision that took place near Highland Road. The collision took place on the evening of Thursday, August 15th. The Baton Rouge Police Department responded to the scene of the accident around 7:30 p.m. 

The crash took the life of 41-year-old Ronney Thomas. Thomas was riding his bike on the 400 block of W Grant Street off of Highland Road at the time of the accident. According to initial reports, Thomas was struck by a 2009 Chevy Impala. 

Thomas sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. It is uncertain if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision. An investigation into the cause is underway.
