Crowley, LA – Victim Dies Following Serious Wreck On Hwy 13 & LA-92

Crowley, LA (May 31, 2019) – A man from Crowley has succumbed to severe injuries sustained in a car accident that took place almost two weeks ago.  The wreck took place Sunday, May 19th.  

The 40-year-old victim, now identified as Shawn Abshire, was driving a compact pickup truck traveling east on LA-92.  Police say he failed to yield and crashed his vehicle into a 2005 Nissan Sentra who was driving on Highway 13.

The Nissan was being driven by an 18-year-old who sustained moderate injuries in the crash and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Abshire was taken to a nearby hospital where had been receiving medical treatment until his passing on Thursday, May 30th. 

The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
