Gonzales, LA – Ferika Tureaud Arrested For Deadly Pedestrian Wreck At LA-44 & LA-935

Gonzales, LA (September 1, 2019) – Louisiana State Police (LSP) have taken a driver into custody due to their role in a fatal pedestrian accident in Ascension Parish. The crash happened in the very early hours of Sunday, September 1, around 2:30 a.m. LSP responded to the scene of the accident at LA-44 (N Burnside Avenue) and LA-935 (E Bayou Narcisse Road.) 

The accident took the life of 32-year-old Darryl Dean of Gonzales, LA. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. According to LSP officials, Tureaud was traveling eastbound on LA-44 in a 2013 Volkswagen Beetle when she hit Dean who was walking on the roadway. 

Tureaud’s breathalyzer test showed that she was over the legal drinking limit, and she was taken into custody.

The accident is currently being investigated by LSP.
