New Orleans, LA – 2-Vehicle Wreck On Lake Pontchartrain Causeway

New Orleans, LA (August 15, 2019) – There was a reported collision in the New Orleans area early in the morning on Thursday, August 15th. The crash took place on the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway SB. 

Two vehicles were involved in the crash, around 9:15 a.m. The bridge was closed for around an hour after the accident. Emergency personnel was called to the scene to clear the debris from the bridge and treat the injured individuals. Those injured in the accident requiring more serious treatment were transported to local area hospitals.

There are no other details available about the crash at this time. An investigation is underway by local officials into the cause of the crash. Authorities have not disclosed the nature or severity of the victims’ injuries sustained in the accident.
