New Orleans, LA – Officer Struck On I-10 At Twin Span Bridge

New Orleans, LA (August 19, 2019) – The New Orleans Police Department reports that an officer was injured by a vehicle on Interstate 10. The officer while parked on the shoulder investigating another officer’s single-vehicle accident. He was the third car traveling eastbound on I-10. The accident happened on Monday, August 19, near New Orleans.

The crash occurred around 8:50 a.m. on the Twin Span bridge to Slidell. The other officer was uninjured in the accident. The description of the car that struck the officer’s patrol vehicle is not known at this time.

The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing. No other information is readily available.
