Slidell, LA – Man Arrested For Deadly Hit-And-Run On I-59

Slidell, LA (August 29, 2019) – Louisiana State Police (LSP) were at the scene of a fatal hit-and-run accident on Thursday, August 29, in Slidell, LA. The wreck took place at around 4:15 p.m. on Interstate 59.

38-year-old Bobby Allison, Jr. of Picayune, MS, was traveling southbound in the left lane of I-50 in a 2004 Honda motorcycle. At the same time, 19-year-old Kyree Courington of New Orleans was driving a 2005 Dodge pickup truck in the right-hand lane. Courington merged into the left lane, making contact with Allison’s motorcycle and causing it to leave the roadway. Allison re-entered the interstate, colliding with a cable traffic barrier.

Allison was pronounced dead at the scene. Courington fled the scene of the accident but later turned himself in to authorities. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
